Had Tuna?

Have you ever been caught up in a situation, right after your date, things does not go as well planned like this:

I am not sure how it linked to but that's just a commercial from a sushi restaurant in Japan....
Many of us likes sushi, when we hear sushi we went like:

Lucky enough for a sushi freak, some times ago I was invited to the opening of an outlet of Sushi King in Summermall Kuching.

Yep, this sushi king:
Not the sushi king that looked like your boyfriend:

We were told that this outlet is the first outlet with "upgrade" version. Sushi king is going through upgrading to serve their customer better and soon other outlet in Sarawak will have the same standard as this outlet.

The cutting ribbons, the guess of honors, the team and the speech.

Of course, the main purpose I was lured here is because of the free food tasting.
The basics:

If you paid close attention to the logo, you will notice that the new sushi king logo has changed, together with the tagline. The fished looked happier being killed to serve us and the new tagline emphasize on the staff attitude and freshness.

The tea is free flow, to be self served:

The first dish is of course sushi. 4 traditional Nigirizushi from left: fried Avocado @ RM4.00 for 2pc; Salmon Belly Aburi @ RM5.00 for 2pc; Katsua Tataki @ RM5.00 for 2pc; Unagi Slice @ RM6.00 for 2pc. I love the topping being draped over and covered the whole rice. Hope they keep that up

Second dish is very appetizing Salmon Avocado Carpaccio @ RM16.90. Salmon and avocado always goes so well together...

What follows immediately is
Tako Wakame @ RM8.90 It is octopus, prawn roe, onion, seaweed with sour dressing tasted like apple vinegar.

Some people do not like to drink hot drink, so they serve us Blackcurrent Vinegar @ RM4.90. No refill allowed

Third dish arrived was Bean Curd topped with miso sauce,
Miso Yakko @ RM5.90

And there was also a bit of western remix, the
 Naporitan Spaghetti @ RM17.90

My grandma's favourite... shishamo (Grilled Capelin) @ Rm 7.90

One of my favourite... the Grilled scallop topped with cod roe mayonnaise...
Hotate Mentai Yaki @ RM13.90

And the soft-shell crab which is hard to "catch"...@RM 17.90...

And the classical tori kara ponzu...@ RM13.90

Chicken Katsuni...@RM12.90... the egg is to be pour on the food and DIY.

According to the sportsman, the upgraded version of Sushi King outlet has another interesting technology. If you take a look on the bottom of the sushi plate, you will see something like this:

This chip will have time information stored in everytime the sushi was made. So, if it passes the "shelf time" the scanner will detect it and an lever arm will reject it automatically.
Since we did not get the chance to go visit the kitchen, I took a while to find a video on the net. It should look something like this:

The sensor above sense the time info on the chip, if it is on belt for more that 4 hours, it will reject them automatically from the belt.

And now, to end this post let's have some sushi...

Time for tuna to take its revenge
And most of the sushi advert draws sushi like this:
Cute? but have you ever think, when you eat the cute sushi it may look like this?
