Play the world in 80 days: Brussels's Nemo 33

Diving was one of the activity in my must do list... I have quite a lot of friends who likes to dive, my brother Steve is also a diving fan. I like diving because I have this fantasy of keeping a shark as a pet ... or if it does not agree to be my pet, I would shoryuken it...Ken style...

Shark as pet for dummies: #1, Tickle to make it happy; #2, Wrestle it if it tried to bite mailman.

shoryuken is good in impressing the ladies... if Ken(left) can impress the chick in purple, I could impress mermaid in purple bikini perhaps?

This FB profile pic would make muscle show off douche bags feel like sissies...

But I have taken up too many activities recently, so have no choice but to put it in my KIV drawer first...however for those who knows and loves to dive, this might be your next dive to conquer...

Located at Brussels, Belgium, Nemo 33 is currently the deepest swimming pool in the world. Designed designed by pro diver John Beernaerts in 1996 for divers. Not as per its name, Nemo 33 actually has a maximum depth of 34.5m...or 35... but then it won't be nice if it is called Nemo 34.5236 right?  Opened in 2004, Nemo 33 is a multi-purpose diving instruction, recreational, and film production facility.
and one can't simply take eyes off the nice red swimsuit... i mean the nice view of the pool

I can't help to relate that the designer actually really likes the number 33..

Firstly the pool is said to be 33m deep although many ppl with diff argument...

The pool has underwater ‘caves’ ( 33  ft deep)for exploration and  3 air-filled diving bells that enable diving instructors to communicate with their charges without returning to the surface...

The pool is heated by solar energy to a temperature of around  33  degrees Celsius...

It costs around EUR 3.2 million  to build ...wait not EUR 3.3million? I won't mind to absorb the 0.1 million to make it 3.3 million ^^

So what's with to dive in an artificial pool than diving in nature?
Well, at least you can avoid these friendly little creatures:

apparently some of them are with the sissy looks that will be on my face when I met them
look alike?

and all the while I though this is what it looks like under the sea:
Singing lobster, dancing fish and cute mermaid in purple bikini impressed by my Shoryuken move

If you think diving in a artificial pool is bored, think again... here is some suggestion from a non diver of what activity you can do in Nemo 33:

Gossiping about neighbor, be an underwater paparazzi, and sit at the corner act EMO

rescue a lost crying astronaut..."it's ok, aunty is going to bring you to your mommy"

imagine yourself as Jack from the titanic... sinking...
"that bitch din't jump with me!? I will be back in Inception!!"
and this is where "ladies first" comes from

Vertical planking

learn how to dance

checking out what's for lunch of others
"I know what u ate last summer... i mean just now"

learn to pee underwater: probably a paparazzi shot

get trained to blow air ring by dolphins

race to the bottom ...."you are late...feed him to the Kraken!!!"

Wait, what? Yes you heard it right... Kraken...
beneath the max depth, lives there a Kraken

Kraken's view of its lunch

I kid the kraken and all the ridiculous stuff I talked... But if you want to give it a try, why not? Afterall is a pool with lots of 33 and it is depends on how you wanna use it. Here is a video of Diving at Nemo 33, I like the music BTW:
